The Korean manufacturer, which aims to return to the World Rally Championship, has just taken a significant step forward by presenting a new intermediate version of its i20 WRC.

In Geneva, Hyundai lifts the veil on its i20

They surprised everyone last fall by showing their desire to return to the World Rally Championship. By presenting a new intermediate version of its i20 WRC, this Tuesday March 5 at the Geneva International Motor Show, Hyundai has just taken a significant step forward. Since the first tests and the first images revealed, the new frame from the Korean manufacturer sports a brand new dress, with “improvements to the aerodynamics, chassis and suspension”, details the brand.

Next step, the passage through private tests which should, for their part, begin a little later in the year in different places in Europe. “We are still at the beginning of this exciting project and the development schedule for the car and the teams is tight. The latest version of the i20 WRC focused on aerodynamics with the aim of improving the car?s cooling systems, explains Michel Nandan, the main French team of Hyundai. “New rear wings and a spoiler give the i20 WRC a new look, while under the bodywork, improvements have been made to the suspension and chassis rigidity, as part of preparation for a program of reinforced tests later in the year.
