Hyundai extends Dani Sordo

The day after his second place in the Rally of Germany after leading a fierce fight against Thierry Neuville et Andreas Mikkelsen, Dani Sordo a été confirmé par Hyundai Motorsport pour les deux prochaines saisons du WRC.

“Hyundai Motorsport is almost like family to me and I am delighted to extend my contract with them for two more seasons, commented Dani Sordo. I have had the pleasure of watching and helping this young team grow into a true contender in just a few years and I look forward to seeing what we can develop in the future, especially with the new regulations. »

“My goal is to fight regularly for victories and podiums and I know it’s possible with this team. We had our best season yet in 2016 and I know the best lies ahead.”, he added.

The Spaniard has been playing with the Korean team since the return of the Asian manufacturer in 2014 and has given the brand three podiums with two 2nd places in Germany and a 3rd place in Catalonia.

“We are delighted to continue our relationship with Dani and we want to build on what has been done in these early years in the WRC, explained Michel Nandan, Team Principal of Hyundai Motorsport. Dani has been a vital member of our team since we joined the WRC in 2014. He is motivated and consistent and helps on and off the rallies. We have shared many good memories together, including last weekend's result. We can now look forward to positive things in the future. »
