On ne change pas une équipe qui gagne. Battu de deux petits points au championnat Équipes par Toksport WRT lors de la dernière saison disputée, Hyundai a décidé de repartir à l’assaut avec ses mêmes soldats, ou presque.

While he had contested the Rally from Portugal on an i20 N Rally2, Oliver Solberg will no longer be in the South Korean ranks this year. Expected in WRC2 in a private Skoda Fabia, the Swede leaves the two official seats to Teemu Suninen and Fabrizio Zaldivar, already present in 2022.

« I am delighted to continue with Hyundai Motorsport for a new season in WRC2, rejoices Teemu Suninen. The year 2023 will be full of challenges, but the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 has a lot of potential. I am convinced that we can win more rallies and be a serious contender for the title this year. We have to push ourselves and the car to be at the front in every event, but I see that everyone in the team is ready to do it to get the results we deserve. We know the car a lot better this year than last year, so it's exciting to think about what we can do."

What program for Suninen and Zaldivar?

As the 2023 season begins this week with the Monte-Carlo Rally (January 19-22), the Finn and the Paraguayan will not be there. They did not appear a few days ago when the entry list was published and the announcement of their program by Hyundai confirmed this.

In 2023, the program of Teemu Suninen and Fabrizio Zaldivar will be the same. This will be structured around 7 rallies starting with that of Sweden (February 9-12). A European tour will then follow with Croatia (April 20-23), Portugal (May 11-14), Sardinia (1er-June 4), Estonia (July 20-23) and Finland (August 3-6). The two men will then finish their season in Chile (September 28-1er october).
