Latvala inherits the lead following Neuville's exit

Dramatic twist at Rally from Sweden! While Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) had a 43-second lead at the head of the race, the Belgian retired in the Karlstad super special which closed the second stage after damaging a wheel by hitting an obstacle on the inside of a bend. The vice-world champion finds himself in the same situation as in Monte-Carlo where he retired even though he was well established in first place.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) inherits the lead of the race, but the fight for victory promises to be intense since Ott Tänak (Ford) is only 3”8 behind! Sébastien Ogier (Ford) could also join the party since the four-time world champion is less than 13 seconds behind his teammate.

Dani Sordo (Hyundai) finds himself at the foot of the provisional podium after taking advantage of Kris Meeke's (Citroën) crash in Vargasen (SS14) which cost the Northern Irishman more than 8 minutes. Craig Breen is now the French manufacturer's leading driver by completing the top five less than half a minute behind the Spaniard.

Elfyn Evans (Ford) moved up to 6th place with more than a minute ahead of Hayden Paddon (Hyundai). Stéphane Lefebvre (DS 3) takes 8th place.

En WRC 2, Pontus Tidemand (Skoda) continues to perform, occupying 9th place in the general classification with more than a minute ahead of Teemu Suninen (Ford) who is still holding off Ole Christian Veiby (Skoda) for a 5s lead .

The final stage of Rally Sweden will feature three special stages. The crews will embark on the 21,19km Likenas from 7:55 a.m.
