Latvala: 'The most complicated rally'

How did you approach the Rally from Finland?
“It was the most complicated rally of my career. I started with enormous pressure and I think that's the reason that prevented me from finding good sensations on the first day. I also had to pass Mökkiperä, a special stage in which I had already crashed three times. I was able to get through this first day without any problem. It was a relief. »

You were sick Saturday morning, how did you feel in the car?

“I felt so bad that I wondered if I was really going to be able to continue the rally. Fortunately, I was able to ride and get third place. I couldn't be happier with this outcome. »

Does such a result make you forget your various mistakes?
?A podium takes a little pressure off me but I must not forget that it?s only one rally. We must continue like this until the end of the season. I really hope to have found the rhythm that I must apply during the next three rallies. I hope this result is a turning point? but I believed so many times that a good result could be a turning point! What is certain is that I will be more serene at the start of the Rally Australia. »

What did you think of Dani Sordo?s performance in Finland?
“I think Dani had the best Rally Finland of his career. On the fastest events, he really progressed. Since the Argentina Rally, he has been going faster and faster and it is never easy to beat him. »

Do you think you and Dani will be able to fight with Mikko Hirvonen and Sébastien Loeb to help your own teammate win?

“I hope I can help Mikko as much as possible. We will first have to score points for the team. But if the situation calls for it, if Mikko is leading in Australia and if I am close to Sébastien, we will have to try something. In Spain, on a surface which is not one of my strong points, it will not be easy. But I will work a lot during testing to improve my driving on asphalt. »
