The Monte-Carlo 2020 route revealed

We hardly change a winning formula. The 88th edition of Rally Monte-Carlo, organized from January 23 to 26, 2020, will offer a journey mixing history and innovation. Of the 16 special stages, with a total length of 305,47 km, the share of new roads amounts to 25% compared to 2019. The hub will remain the town of Gap (Hautes-Alpes) with the presence of the service park.

As usual, the event will begin at night on Thursday January 23, with two ES well known to those nostalgic for “Monte-Carl'”: Malijai-Puimichel (17,72 km – 20:38 p.m.) and Bayons-Bréziers (25,49 km – 22:26 p.m.). The next day, the competitors will head towards the south-east and east of Gap with 122,90 sector markers in the Hautes-Alpes and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

Indeed, Friday January 24 will offer a loop of three special stages to be completed twice: Curbans-Venterol (ES 3/6 – 20,10 km – 8:36 a.m. / 13:53 p.m.), the unique Saint-Clément-sur-Durance-Freissinières (SS 4/7 – 20,76 km – 9:54 a.m. / 15:11 p.m.) and finally Avançon-Notre-Dame-du-Laus (SS 5/8 – 20,59 km – 11:17 a.m. / 16:34 p.m.).

Even if the mileage will be slightly lower on Saturday January 25, the spectacle will be on another loop: Saint-Léger-les-Mélèzes-La Bâtie-Neuve (ES 9/11 – 16,87 km – 09:54 a.m. / 14:08 p.m.) and La Bréole-Selonnet (SS 10/12 – 20,82 km – 11:12 a.m. / 15:26 p.m.). In the evening, the cars will rest not in Gap, but in Monaco.

Finally, Sunday January 26 will allow lovers of Col du Turini to be rewarded, via the La Bollène-Vésubie-Peïra-Cava special, to be covered twice (SS 13/15 – 18,41 km – 08:17 a.m. / 10:55 a.m.). As in 2019, the ES La Cabanette-Col de Braus (ES 14/16 – 13,58 km – 09:08 a.m. / 12:18 p.m.) will serve as a Power Stage at around midday.
