The Rally of Mexico is organized in the face of the coronavirus

F1, WTCR, Super Formula, GT Open, not a day goes by without the coronavirus affecting one or another of the series around the world.

A little less than ten days before the kick-off of the third round of the World Rally Championship WRC in Mexico, the organizers of the event admit their confidence in the smooth running of the first dirt round of the year.

All supported by work carried out in collaboration with local health authorities who have deployed the means to prevent any situation linked to the possible spread of Covid-19.

“We have set up an epidemiological surveillance system to monitor all drivers and teams arriving from countries where the situation is most serious: China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran and Singapore, comments Daniel Alberto Díaz Martínez, seconded secretary of health in the Mexican government, cited by the WRC website.

Le rally will be held within the framework of these preventive measures, with the support of a team of epidemiologists and health workers who will be stationed in the places where the greatest number of spectators are expected, as well as on the base camp of the rally in León, in order to guarantee the health of all participants. »

No quarantine measures therefore for the participants, only one Italian crew being listed on the list of entries on the pilots' side. Five cases of coronavirus have been detected in Mexico.
