For the only snow event of the season, the competition will be less fierce during the Rally from Sweden (February 9 to 12). While no less than 75 cars will take the start of the Monte-Carlo Rally this week (January 19 to 22), only 52 will be present in Scandinavia next month.

This is not the only reduction to be noted after the publication of the first entry list for the Swedish round. Indeed, in the premier category, the number of Rally1s will not even reach ten because only 9 will take the start of the Swedish Rally.

Among the big names, Sébastien Ogier ne participera pas et ne sera pas remplacé dans les rangs de Toyota par Esapekka Lappi, avec qui le Tricolore se partageait la 4e Yaris, puisqu’il est désormais titulaire chez Hyundai.

On the other hand, there will be a 4e Yaris but in private entry for Lorenzo Bertelli. Absent in 2022 because he had to go to Milan for Fashion Week, the Italian returns to the charge in 2023 to hope to do well even if he knows he has no chance of victory. On the South Korean side, Dani Sordo will give way to Craig Breen in the 3e i20. No trace, however, of a 3e Ford Cougar. Ott Tänak and Pierre-Louis Loubet will be the only representatives of the British structure at the Swedish Rally.

In WRC2, the level will always be high since 25 competitors will be battling it out, notably with the entry into the running this season of the reigning champion, Emil Lindholm.
