Monte-Carlo – Neuville: “We had to keep the pressure on Ogier”

Thierry Neuville remains in the fight for victory Rally Monte-Carlo à l’issue de la pénultième étape. Le pilote Hyundai est resté au contact de Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) to clock in with a delay of 4 seconds before the last day.

“It was a great day overall and we are clearly still in the game, summarizes the vice-world champion. We only lost 2”3 on Ogier at the end of the 4 stages, which is not too bad. It was difficult to see what pace we could take on these courses. I know I could have been faster at times, especially in the morning, but it's easy to make a mistake when you push too hard. »

“I didn’t want to take any risks, but we had to keep the pressure on Ogier. He is at home here and he knows the place very well. We will obviously do our best to play for victory tomorrow, but we must also be intelligent and take the necessary step back”, specifies the Belgian.

If Thierry Neuville wins this Sunday in the Principality, it would not only be his first success at the Monte-Carlo Rally but also a first victory in this round for Hyundai Motorsport.
