Neuville falls in Germany, Tänak escapes

Ott Tänak now has a solid lead in Rally from Germany. The Estonian saw his direct rival Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) losing more than a minute due to a puncture occurring in the Panzerplatte justice of the peace, more than 41km long. The Belgian had no choice but to stop to change his wheel after this incident at the start of the course.

The leader of the Rally Germany now has a lead of more than 42 seconds over his direct rivals Kris Meeke and Jari-Matti Latvala grouped in less than 3 seconds. THE Toyota now monopolize the provisional podium.

Sébastien Ogier slipped behind the two Yaris WRC in the last SS but remains able to threaten the top three by being half a second behind the Finn.

The Hyundais are now grouped a good distance from the Frenchman with Dani Sordo in the lead with 6 seconds ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen and 12 seconds over Thierry Neuville who finds himself 7th with 8 seconds ahead of Esapekka Lappi (Citroën).

Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) is still in 9th position ahead of Gus Greensmith (M-Sport). Jan Kopecky (Skoda) is on the verge of the Top 10 while remaining at the head of the WRC 2 Pro. Éric Camilli (Ford) has regained rhythm and is in 2nd position in the category after taking advantage of a puncture from Mads Ostberg (Citroën) in Panzerplatte.

The crews benefit from assistance before resuming the last two stage contested. Teemu Suninen is expected to depart from Arena Panzerplatte from 18:55 p.m. The German Rally can be followed live with our live text.
