Neuville confident for Sardinia

Thierry Neuville will be able to aim for a 3rd victory in Rally from Sardinia this weekend. The Belgian won last year in Italy after a sensational finish, winning 7 tenths ahead of Sébastien Ogier. The pilot Hyundai disposera en plus d’une belle position sur la route en s’élançant derrière le Français et Ott Tänak during the first stage on Friday in an event where sweeping counts a lot.

“Sardinia is one of my favorite events, declares Thierry Neuville. The test corresponds perfectly to my driving style and my note-taking. Nicolas (Gilsoul, his co-driver) and I have always been comfortable here and we have had several successes in the past (2016 and 2018). I hope we can add another one to this year's edition. »

“The championship is very close and we should still experience a breathtaking fight, adds the vice-champion. We will have the pleasure of racing through magnificent landscapes on very technical special stages, everything I love! »

Hyundai Motorsport Team Principal Andrea Adamo is putting pressure on his team to achieve better results.

“We enter the second part of the season knowing that we cannot afford weekends like the one experienced in Portugal, says the team leader who discusses the fuel pressure problems that arose on the i20s WRC by Sébastien Loeb and Dani Sordo. We managed to take 2nd place but we could have achieved much more. We have an opportunity to show what we can do in Sardinia, but it's up to us to do the job. We will face new difficulties with road conditions and temperatures, but I am sure that our crews will use all their talent to achieve the best possible result. »

The Sardinia Rally which will start on Thursday at 17 p.m. French time will be followed with our live text.
