For his second rally on asphalt behind the wheel of the Citroën DS3 WRC, Thierry Neuville is able to fight for the podium. After covering the first 138 kilometers of the Rally Germany, the Belgian is only 5” behind Jari-Matti Latvala, currently third in the provisional standings for this World Rally Championship event.
« Even if there are still areas for improvement, I am really happy with this stage. Sebastian Loeb was faster than everyone today, but we were always within the times of the other competitors, explains Neuville. We will have to question everything tomorrow. Tire management in Baumholder seems to be one of the keys to the race. The podium remains my goal, I must not give up. »
