Nicolas Ciamin in WRC-2 with Sarrazin Motorsport

In addition to his program in the French Rally Championship with a FIAT 124 Abarth from Milano Racing, Nicholas Ciamin will take part in five rounds of the WRC-2 cette saison au volant d’une Hyundai i20 R5 du Sarrazin Motorsport.

The Junior WRC vice-champion will be lined up at the start of the Tour de Corse, Rally Italy-Sardinia, Rally Finland, Rally Germany and Rally Turkey. A mix between asphalt and dirt events which will allow the young Frenchman to gain maximum experience.

In preparation for this program, Ciamin will be competing in two events in France, at Grasse Fleurs et Parfums at the end of March and at Terre de Castine at the beginning of May.

“For 2018, we had two options: continue in Junior WRC to aim for the title or take the next step, comments Ciamin. Again, we decided to move forward. WRC-2 is the place to be, because the manufacturers are closely monitoring this championship.

The level is very high, with former WRC drivers or very experienced safe bets. For me, it will be a season where the key words will be learning and progression. I have already competed in two French Championship rallies in a Ford Fiesta R5. I had adapted well, but I know that I lack experience, especially on dirt. »

Ciamin will be able, as Stéphane Sarrazin points out, to compare himself to Jari Huttunen, Hyundai development driver, who will also be involved in the structure of the new SMP Racing driver in WEC.
