The start of this Rally of Kenya, the first in 19 years, took place smoothly near Kasarani, not far from the capital Nairobi.

In this SS1, contested in the form of a super-special, it is Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) qui s’est illustré comme le pilote le plus rapide. Le septuple champion du monde a bouclé le tour 4,84 kilomètres en 3’21“5.

Le Français emmène un trio 100% Toyota complété par Kalle Rovanperä (+ 0“3) et Elfyn Evans (+ 0“7). Les pilotes Hyundai, Ott Tänak et Thierry Neuville, occupy the last two positions of the Top 5.

Titularisé chez M-Sport à place de Teemu Suninen, Adrien fourmaux simply ensured by limiting the damage. The native of Seclin, near Lille, finished in a discreet 10th place, 9” behind his compatriot.

Sébastien Ogier therefore logically takes the lead overall after this first special. It should be noted that this SS1 has no impact on the starting order. The Gapençais, leader of the championship, will sweep the road this Friday.
