Ott Tänak surprising leader in Poland

Ott Tänak (Ford) is the surprising leader of the Rally from Poland. The Dmack driver was more comfortable than his rivals wearing Michelin tires as he scored five scratches during the day. The Estonian, who increased the pace again in the afternoon by only carrying a single spare wheel, concluded the first stage with a lead of 4'' over Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) who fell to second place. .

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) completes the top three at six seconds from the Norwegian despite a very efficient pace since he maintained respect Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) who is six seconds behind the New Zealander. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) still completes the top five, running four seconds behind the triple world champion.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) marks the separation in the peloton since the Finn is more than 16 seconds behind the Belgian. The Nordic pilot fought with the DS 3 WRC by Stéphane Lefebvre and Craig Breen which are a few tenths behind his Polo R WRC.

Éric Camilli (Ford) maintains the advantage over his teammate Mads Ostberg by maintaining ninth place with eight seconds ahead of the Norwegian. The Scandinavian remains in the top ten for just over five seconds ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai).

In WRC2, Teemu Suninen (Skoda Fabia R5) inherited the lead after Pontus Tidemand (Fabia R5) stopped.

The second stage of the Rally Poland will be contested from 9:55 a.m.
