Peugeot unveils its 208 R2

It keeps the same name, but everything else changes. La Peugeot 208 R2 new generation was officially unveiled on Sunday April 14 and should be delivered to the teams by 2020.

The Sochaux car resumes the PureTech 3-cylinder 1,2 liter engine of the series version but equipped witha more imposing turbo and a new gearbox. The 208 R2 is being developed this spring 2019 in a dynamic situation in the Vosges massif.

Bruno Famin, director of Peugeot Sport, is proud of this new mount. “We want to offer our customers a high-performance, reliable car, offering a lot of driving pleasure, for minimal running costs: no reason to change the winning formula in R2!

The objective in the coming months will be to accumulate, through numerous test sessions, a maximum of experiences and data, on all terrains and in all conditions in order to define and validate the final technical specifications. of the car and thus be ready to attack the 2020 season."
