Sébastien Ogier delighted with the new settings of his Citroën C3

After having more than limited the damage in Argentina against Thierry Neuville, avec un podium décroché en toute fin de course face à Kris Meeke (Toyota), Sébastien Ogier is counting on the Chilean event to once again aim for the top step of the podium.

On new special stages for all the competitors WRC, the Frenchman is banking heavily on the work carried out by Citroën Racing on the C3, in order to offer the reigning world champion a car more comfortable in complicated grip conditions.

Un point déjà mis en avant par l’ancien pilote Volkswagen et M-Sport lors de la précédente épreuve ou encore au Mexique. “We made big changes to the car, Ogier explained last night after the shakedown, finished in seventh place, 4″ behind Andreas Mikkelsen.

We have a different car than the previous one rally and my first impression is good. I had a good feeling about the shakedown. I hope to keep this up all weekend and fight up front. Basically, the chassis and suspension settings have been changed. It was very different driving the car this morning. I was happy to see that the weather was good too. »

The allure of novelty

Like most of the drivers entered in Chile, Sébastien Ogier praises the South American course and the challenge of confronting a completely new event. “It's a challenge to start from scratch, to try to get perfect scores over an entire rally, underlines the pilot of the brand with chevrons. To be at the limit everywhere, straight away, it's never easy.

I feel like I did some good reconnaissance. We will still have to work on the video to be completely ready before the start of the rally. It will add a good dose of adrenaline to starting from scratch. »

The Chile Rally will be followed live and in full on AUTOhebdo.fr via our live-text. The first special will start at 14 p.m. this Friday.
