From 20 noon, place for the first special, 17,47 km between Malijai and Puimichel. Then at 22:26 p.m., competitors will have to drive 25,49 km between Bayons and Bréziers. The first steps of the outgoing champion Ott Tänak with Hyundai as well as Sébastien Ogier on Toyota seront scrutés avec attention.

Le représentant Ford M-Sport en WRC 2, Adrien fourmaux, detailed for the Monte-Carlo AUTO Guidehebdo (on sale in digital and on newsstands) each special. Here are his thoughts on SS1 and SS2:

“SS1 was contested in the days of Group B and then at the end of the 1980s. Looking at the map, I saw that it doesn't go very high (805 meters. Editor’s note) and the beginning is winding. The last few kilometers seem faster. I love running at night for the crazy atmosphere it generates. If you feel confident, you will have to attack immediately.

“By placing the longest stage of the event at night on the first evening and SS2, the organizers have spoiled us! It's a big piece. We didn't do it last year, but it's a well-known section with the famous passage through the Tourniquet hairpins and a very fast part just before. After the Col de Sagnes, at 1184 m, the road is wider and more rhythmic, crossing a few villages (Turriers, Bellafaire, etc.).

You will need to be wary of areas that have remained in the shade or those covered in humidity during the day, because after 22 p.m., ice will undoubtedly be present. When I was a spectator, with a friend, we sat in pins with our armchairs! I know he will be there again this year and that he will have a great time! »
