Ott Tänak suffered a cruel disappointment when he saw victory in the Rally Poland slip away from him following a puncture.

Tänak: “It’s hard to take”

Ott Tänak had difficulty holding back her tears when the Rally from Poland. If the Estonian achieved his best result in WRC with a second place, he won the race against Andreas Mikkelsen before suffering a puncture in the penultimate special.

“It was a great weekend and I made the most of it. I had never felt like that. I was comfortable behind the wheel and the car worked perfectly as did the tires. There are no more limits when everything is going well. The base was there, but I have to remember that we have second place”, declared the Dmack pilot at a press conference.

“My puncture happened early in the special. I felt like I was losing control with 13 or 14km to go. I continued to attack and we had a few scares. It's the rally. It’s hard to take but there will be revenge”, promised Ott Tänak.
