WRC – Argentina: Solberg wins SS1

This SS1 was quite simply a story of tires, and that’s where Ford made the difference. The fact remains that the firm with the blue oval still signs a quintuple in this first special in Argentina, Petter Solberg and Dani Sordo ahead of Mads Ostberg, Ött Thank you and Evgeny Novikov. First leader, the Norwegian had chosen to put on his Fiesta RS WRC of Soft tires, unlike its great rival Sébastien Loeb. In the end, he set the best time in 4'54"9, or 10"2 better than the Alsatian from the Citroën World Rally Team.

“I had good feelings, Solberg said. It was a difficult stage to start with so we were still careful. » As for Loeb, obviously, he did not display the same smile : “It was a very bad tire choice, it was very slippery. »

Today, for SS2, Sébastien Loeb will start first. Best time in the qualifying special, the Alsatian made this choice because rain is forecast.
