The World Motor Sport Council has validated the establishment of a Super 2000 category in the World Rally Championship events (WRC). Ten events will be eligible, and each driver will have to participate in seven of these rallies, including two outside Europe, in order to score points and participate in the fight for the title. This championship will be independent of the WRC Cup S2000 reserved for teams.
