The last laps of the track 24 Hours of Le Mans offers a spectacle to the public, who are now very numerous in the stands. There Porsche RS Spyder n°5 once again made a mistake. It was this time in the first chicane of the Hunaudières straight that the Navi Team Goh car missed. It crashed into the tire barriers, causing considerable damage upon impact.
The second “accident” which took place concerned the #39 Lola Mazda, driven by Hideki Noda, which stopped at the entrance to the pit straight. Heavy smoke then emerged from under the hood, with the engine starting to catch fire.
The safety car entered the track, a lot of oil having spilled onto the track following the abandonment of the Lola Mazda.
