Sébastien Loeb (Citroen C4 WRC) took the lead Rally of Jordan, at the top of the standings which he shares with Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Focus WRC), the two drivers being perfectly tied. The Frenchman set the best time, ahead of Petter Solberg (Citroën C4 WRC) and Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4 WRC), and seems to have made its strategic choice: to finish the day in the lead with a maximum lead before opening the road on Saturday. However, the Frenchman will have to surpass himself to build a sufficient lead before falling victim to the sweep on Sunday, by going first in the special stages.
