Sébastien Loeb achieved the best time in the first special, run two by two over 2,06 km. The Frenchman is only a tenth ahead of his teammate at Citroën, Dani Sordo. Followed by Mikko Hirvonen, Sébastien Ogier, EvgenyNovikov, Petter Solber, Henning Solberg and Jari-Matti Latvala, all less than two seconds behind the first leader of the Rally from Finland.
