Jari-Matti Latvala emerges from the shadows. While the special stages of Rally of Finland were all won by Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus) and Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4) so far, Jari-Matti Latvala achieved his first scratch time of the weekend, during SS16. The Finn outdistances Mikko Hirvonen (+1??3), Sébastien Loeb (+3??3) but especially Dani Sordo (+7??8), from whom he steals third place in the general classification. Hirvonen keeps the lead with 28?? ahead of Loeb.
Seventh overall, Sébastien Ogier had a good day, being only 2?1 behind Mads Östberg?s sixth place.
