Author of the best time during SS6, the last special of the day, Jari-Matti Latvala consolidated his advantage during the rally from Italy, to Sardinia. The Finn is ahead in SS6 of Dani Sordo (4??1), Petter Solberg (6??5) and Henning Solberg (9??0). Sebastian Loeb is only seventh, at 25??6.
In the general classification, the Frenchman slipped to third place, more than 42 seconds behind Latvala. Second, Hirvonen is 39??8 behind the Finn.
