Following the repair of a safety rail on the circuit, the qualifying session of 24 Hours of Le Mans didn’t start until 19:25 p.m. Rather than shortening the session, the race direction decided to leave the regulatory 2 hours of the first phase. The latter will therefore end at 21:25 p.m., and the second phase will resume as planned at 22 p.m., ending at midnight.
At the 21:06 p.m. clock, the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP n°8 leads the way. Franck Montagny chained fast times to lower the reference mark to 3’24”852. The No. 15 and No. 2 Audi R1s follow.
