The Andalusia Rally-Raid postponed until the fall

Initially scheduled for June 7 to 12, the 3rd edition of the Rally-Raid of Andalusia (Spain), counting for the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), has been postponed. The reason for this postponement: the heat wave which has hit Andalusia in recent weeks. The W2RC has not announced new precise dates but assures that the event will take place this fall.

“These extreme weather conditions have significantly increased the risk of fire in the region, leading local authorities to raise the fire alert level to its maximum” announced the organizers in a press release. “ To preserve this already fragile ecosystem and despite the full support of local authorities, all stakeholders decided that continuing the rally was not possible at the moment. »

After the cancellation of the Kazakhstan Rally-Raid, the Andalusia Rally-Raid is the second W2RC event not to take place on the scheduled date. Next scheduled meeting: the Morocco Rally-Raid, from October 7 to 12.
