One of the birthplaces of ice racing in France will not be visited this winter. The Serre Chevalier circuit (Hautes-Alpes) indeed disappears from the 2021-22 calendar of Andros Trophy as announced by the organizer 2MO on Tuesday December 21:
“We take note of the conflict, which opposes the operator of the Serre Chevalier Ice Circuit to the municipality of La Salle Les Alpes, whose expulsion has been recorded by the summary proceedings.
To our great regret, we will not be able to compete in the Andros e-Trophy round in Serre Chevalier. »
The town hall of La Salle-les-Alpes had not renewed the lease for the circuit. The circuit operator’s legal action was rejected. In protest, a petition to save the circuit collected nearly 4 signatures.
