24 Hours of Daytona – Free Practice 1: Pato O'Ward surprises the DPi in the rain
Contested in the rain, the first Free Practice session for the 24 Hours of Daytona saw an LM P2 set the best time with the No. 07 DragonSpeed Oreca 81. Pato O'Ward actually set a time of 1:49.251. He beat the first DPi: the No. 02 Cadillac of Chip Ganassi Racing by just 0.016 seconds and the No. 05 Acura ARX-10 of Wayne Taylor Racing by more than a second and a half.
Chez les GTD Pro, la Porsche 911 GT3 R n°9 de Pfaff Motorsports a été la plus rapide avec le Français Mathieu Jaminet en 1:56.764. Il a devancé la Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°75 from Sun Energy 1, first GTD. In LM P3, the best time went to Matthew Bell in the No. 08 AWA Duqueine D13.
