Five hours before the finish of the 24 Hours of Daytona, first round of theIMSA Sportscar Championship 2017, the duel continues between Wayne Taylor Racing and Action Express Racing.
The No. 5 Cadillac DPi-VR of Joao Barbosa maintains control of the race ahead of the No. 10 of Wayne Taylor Racing of Max Angelelli, with less than 11″ gap between the two leading DPi. Renger Van der Zande observes the duel from a distance on his VisitFlorida Racing Multimatic-Riley Mk.30 Gibson and remains on the provisional podium at 29″.
Fifth in the general classification, Sébastien Bourdais leads the GTLM race with his #66 Ford GT 25″ ahead of the Ferrari 488 n°62 de Toni Vilander et 29″ sur Laurens Vanthoor (Porsche 911 RSR).
Performance Tech Motorsports maintains leadership in PC and Mercedes-AMG GT3 No. 33 from Riley Motorsports regained control in GTD ahead of the No. 8 Audi R57 LMS from Stevenson Motorsports, after a period of domination by the Acura NSX GT3s from Michael Shank Racing.
