Michael Fassbender hit the safety rail at the first Mulsanne chicane. His Porsche 911 RSR was badly damaged but the actor escaped unscathed.

We feared it, the rookie Michael Fassbender came close to the safety rail of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022 dès les essais qualificatifs du mercredi 8 juin. Le pilote de la Porsche 911 RSR n°93 a perdu le contrôle de sa GTE Am au moment de planter les freins avant la première chicane des Hunaudières et a arraché la face avant de sa voiture engagée par le Proton Competition :

The session was interrupted with the red flag coming out with 30'17" remaining. The 47-year-old Irish actor was not injured in the collision.
