50 cars at the start of Road To Le Mans

With nearly 50 cars expected on track, the Road To starting grid Le Mans 2022 is well stocked. With two races scheduled for Thursday June 9 and Saturday June 11, the spectacle promises on the Sarthe circuit. These two events will count towards the Michelin Le Mans Cup championship, with 32 points up for grabs at the end.

36 LMP3s, 13 GT3s and a hydrogen car

The LMP3 category will obviously be the most represented at Road To Le Mans, with nearly 36 cars, including 32 entered for the full Michelin Le Mans Cup season. The championship leaders, Malthe Jakobsen and Maurice Smith (Ligier Cool Racing) will be the scarecrow at the third meeting of the 2022 season. Cool Racing, as well as RLR MSport, will also enter an additional car in the Mans.

The GT3 category will have 13 cars on track. Six additional cars will appear on the starting grid, in addition to those already entered for the full Michelin Le Mans Cup season. Winners at Imola, Gustav Birch and Jens Moller (GMB Motorsport) will advance to Le Mans with the status of championship leader.

The Danish team occupies the first two places in the championship since the No. 55 Honda NSX of Kristian Poulsen and Kasper Jensen, winner of the first round at Le Castellet.

Finally, after making its racing debut at Imola on May 14, H24 Racing's hydrogen car will make its first appearance in a race at Le Mans, two years before its goal of taking the start of the 24 2024 Hours of Le Mans. Norman Nato and Stéphane Richelmi will share the wheel.
