Michel Frey set the best time in the first free practice session of theELMS au Red Bull Ring in Austria. The Oreca 03-Judd finished with a time of 1'24"163, ahead of the Newblood Morgan-Judd led by Christian Klien by three tenths. The Zytek-Nissan of Jota Sport entrusted to Filipe Albuquerque follows half a second ahead of theAlpine Nelson Panciatici's A450b.
Andrea Bertolini set the fastest lap in GTE with a time of 1'30"050 at the wheel of the Ferrari n°72 of SMP Racing. Kevin Korjus was responsible for setting the benchmark in GTC with a lap completed in 1'31"272 at the wheel of the McLaren MP4-12C entered by ART GP.
