By presenting its new V6 3.5l Ecoboost which will power the Daytona Prototypes in USCC in 2014, Ford also announced that it would attempt to beat the speed record on the Daytona oval held since 1987 by Bill Elliott who had completed a lap at an average speed of 210,364 mph ( or 338,5km/h). Driving a Michael Shank Racing Riley, Colin Braun set the new benchmark at 222,971 mph (358,7 km/h). Click on this link to watch the video of the event.
