Second fastest in LM P2 behind the HPD of Strakka Racing, the Oreca 03-Nissan of Franck Mailleux, Soheil Ayari and Lucas Ordonez made a good debut in these 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, the hunt for the clock was not on the agenda. “Our objective was above all to refine the set-up of the car for qualifying practice and the race,” explains Franck Mailleux. With two qualifying sessions on the program for tomorrow, we will have time to continue the work, including a more in-depth evaluation of the Dunlop tires. Tonight we just wanted to secure a few laps in case there was rain tomorrow. It’s encouraging to set the second fastest time in LM P2 without really trying to chase it.”
Tomorrow, the first of two qualifying sessions will begin at 19 p.m.
