By crossing the finish line at the head of the GTD category, Brendan Iribe believed he would give his teammate Jordan Pepper and his Inception Racing team their first victory of the season. This was without taking into account the post-race technical inspections of the officers.
After verifications, it turned out that the McLaren No. 70 of Inception Racing was too light compared to the minimum weight to be respected according to the race direction. Victory in GTD therefore went to the No. 4 Turner Motorsport BMW M3 GT96 driven by Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley.
Gutted… unfortunately got stripped of the win because of being a tiny bit under weight. After all that, this hurts.
We win and loose as a team, and honestly we showed what we capable of today… proud of my boys no matter what❤️👊🏻
