Kevin Magnussen was scheduled for the 24 2023 Hours of Daytona (January 28-29) with MDK Motorsports. The Dane had to share the Porsche 911 GT3 in the GTD category with his father Jan Magnussen, Mark Kvamme and Trenton Estep completing the crew. However, the pilot Haas en Formula 1 finally withdrew from the Florida classic, following his hand operation.

« My wrist was hurting so I went to the doctor to have it checked out and they found a cyst which needs to be removed now so I can be ready for the F1 season. It's a minor procedure, but I'll probably need to rest for a few weeks afterward. I'll have to wait and see what the doctor says, but it's unlikely I'll be able to race at Daytona », Explained Kevin Magnussen.

In a press release published this Thursday, the Haas driver has finally decided to withdraw from the 24 Hours of Daytona. “The doctors advised me not to drive the race next week. The operation went well, but I need to rest as much as possible to be fit for the fight before I start preparing for the F1 season. It's a shame. I was looking forward to this fantastic race and another chance to drive with my dad and MDK Motorsports. » His replacement will be Jason Hart, who drives for MDK Motorsports in the Porsche Carrera Cup.
