Action Express Racing's No. 31 Cadillac decommissioned in Detroit

Pipo Derani put on a show Saturday in Belle Isle Park behind the wheel of the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac. Very aggressive with an offbeat strategy, the Brazilian took the podium at the end of the race during a fierce battle against Earl Bamber (Cadillac n°02). This strategy did not pay off, as the reigning champion prototype ultimately finished just off the podium. No regrets for Derani and Pla, as their DPi was ultimately penalized during the post-race inspection, with the car being downgraded to sixth in the DPi class due to its underweight. Victory went to another Cadillac, the No. 01 of Sébastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande.
