The marshals evacuated the damaged Dome S102.5 and cleaned the track of its debris. The green flag was displayed again on the Sarthe circuit. Dindo Capello gives way to Allan McNish in the No. 2 Audi (third) while Marco Bonanomi replaces Mike Rockenfeller in the No. 18 R4 (fifth). Marc Gené is at the controls of the No. 3 Audi (second) while Benoît Tréluyer remains at the wheel of the No. 18 R1 on provisional pole. Sébastien Buemi et Kazuki Nakajima took to the track again behind the wheel of their TS030.

AF Corse appears to be soon ready to launch Ferrari 458 n°51 of Fisichella-Bruni-Vilander on the track. The Italian has still not completed a single timed lap since Giancarlo Fisichella's exit during testing.
