The Cadillac DPi grouped in the lead at the Roar

The first test session for the Roar before the 24 at Daytona ended with a best time from Filipe Albuquerque who completed a lap of the Florida circuit in 1'37''266 in the No. 5 Cadillac DPi of Mustang Sampling Racing .

The Cadillac DPi are in the spotlight since they monopolize the top four. Renger van der Zande was the closest, two tenths behind the #10 Konica Minolta. Tristan Vautier (Spirit of Daytona no. 90) completed the top three ahead of Felipe de Oliveira (Whelen Engineering Racing no. 31). Colin Braun nevertheless managed to place an Oreca 07 in the top five by placing the No. 54 Core Autosport seven tenths off the benchmark.

Fernando Alonso finished 23rd among the drivers who took part in the session at the wheel of the No. 217 United Autosports Ligier JS P23, 2 seconds behind the best time set by the Portuguese.

In GTLM, the Ford GTs stood out. Richard Westbrook was responsible for setting the benchmark for the category at the wheel of the No. 67, credited with a time of 1'44''095 which is two hundredths ahead of Dirk Müller's sister car No. 66. Alessandro Pier Guidi placed the Ferrari 488 du Risi Competizione en troisième position devant les deux Porsche 911 RSR de Laurens Vanthoor et Patrick Pilet.

Rolf Ineichen set the best time in GTD with a time of 1'47''104 in the No. 3 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT11.
