The organizers of theIMSA Sportscar Championship confirmed this Friday the return to the 2018 calendar of an event on the Mid-Ohio track. The track has not been visited by an American endurance series since the Grand-AM in June 2013, a round which was won by Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi. The ALMS championship took place on this circuit in 2012.
IMSA also indicated that the series would not return to the Circuit of the Americas (Texas) during the next season, after having been part of the calendar since 2014. The WEC and IMSA played together during this round, called Lone Star Le Mans.
