Nismo is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The performance branch of the Japanese manufacturer was created in 1984 in Japan and launched two years later to attack the 24 Hours of Le Mans  with the R85V and the R86V. His first double-clock victory came in 1991 at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium). Nissan won the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) the following year and the class victory at La Sarthe in 1994 with the 300ZX Turbo. The Japanese brand returned in 1997 with the R390 GT1 and took the last step of the podium in 1998. The Nissan GT Academy was created around ten years later after several titles won in Super GT. The manufacturer became an engine supplier in LMP2 and immediately won the category victory at Le Mans in 2011 before entering V8 Supercars the following season. After a failed attempt to compete in Le Mans with the Zeod RC which only completed a few laps, Nissan will enter the GT-R LM Nismo in WEC next year.
