Mazda sporting director John Doonan announced on Speed.com that the SkyActiv-D diesel which was to power LMP2 cars this year 24 Hours of Le Mans would not be ready to shoot next June in Sarthe. The Japanese engine manufacturer fell behind in the development of the engine following the Mazda 6 Grand-Am program. Our American colleagues also indicated that Dempsey Racing would no longer represent the Japanese manufacturer this year.
