La direction de course vient d’annoncer que l’épreuve des 6 Heures de Sao Paolo se terminerait derrière la voiture de sécurité. Porsche remporte donc sa première victoire en WEC dans des circonstances particulières grâce à la 919 Hybrid n°14 de Neel Jani – Romain Dumas – Marc Lieb. La Toyota TS040 Hybrid n°8 Sébastien Buemi and Anthony Davidson finished 2nd and offered the Manufacturers' World Champion title to Toyota. Tom Kristensen offers himself one last podium before his retirement, taking third place with his teammates Loïc duval and Lucas Di Grassi on the Audi R18 e-tron quattro.

 In LM P2, victory for KCMG with the Oreca 03R of Imperatori – Bradley – Howson, but title for Sergey Zlobin and SMP Racing. In GTE Pro, victory goes toAston Martin Vantage n°7 of Stefan Mücke and Darren Turner ahead of the Porsche 911 RSR n°92 of Patrick Pilet and Frédéric Makowiecki and the Ferrari 458 Italia n°71 from the Rigon – Calado duo which allowed Ferrari to win the Manufacturers’ title. In GTE Am, Aston Martin doubled with the No. 98 of Lamy – Nygaard – Dalla Lana in front of the No. 95 of Thiim – Heinemeier-Hansson – Poulsen. Michele Rugolo, Stephen Wyatt and Andrea Bertolini completed the podium in the #81 AF Corse Ferrari.
