Racing Team Nederland withdraws from Petit Le Mans

Unsurprisingly, Racing Team Nederland will not participate in Petit Le Mans, finale of the 2022 season ofIMSA. The Dutch team announced its withdrawal on its social networks after the problems encountered by Frits van Eerd with the justice system in his country. The general director of the Batavian supermarket chain has indeed been arrested in connection with a case of money laundering and VAT fraud. Released on Sunday, Frits van Eerd made the decision to temporarily leave his functions.

Scheduled for Petit Le Mans driving the Jumbo-sponsored Racing Team Nederland Oreca 07 alongside Dylan Murry and Giedo van der Garde, van Eerd has also decided to withdraw from the event. “As a result of Frits van Eerd's decision to focus on his personal situation for the near future, Racing Team Nederland will not participate in this weekend's IMSA round at Road Atlanta. We understand his decision and guarantee our support”, expressed the team on its social networks.

“Due to personal concerns, we, Racing Team Nederand, have decided to withdraw from the IMSA race at Road Atlanta this weekend. Thank you for your understanding and I hope to see you again on the track soon”, added Giedo van der Garde. Two other cars announced should not appear at the start: the McLaren 720S GT3 n°59 from Crucial Motorsports (GTD) and the Duqueine D08 n°7 from Forty7 Motorsport (LM P3).
