The Swiss team, which is making its comeback on the other side of the Atlantic with the No. 07 Oreca 13 entered in the rounds of the North American Endurance Cup in IMSA, was the fastest during the first session of the Roar Before the Rolex 24, a big rehearsal before the 24 Hours of Daytona in Florida (January 28-29).

On the Florida track, Neel Jani set the best time in 1'39″164 and beat Ricky Taylor's No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-VR by 332 thousandths. 2016 champion, Dane Cameron places his No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-VR in third place, almost two seconds behind.

In PC, Buddy Rice, winner of the Indianapolis 500 in 2004, takes the BAR09 Motorsports Oreca FLM1 to the forefront of the category with the best time achieved in 1'44″025, 64 thousandths ahead of Sebastian Saavedra (Starworks Motorsports ).

Corvette and Ford have started a battle in GTLM since Jan Magnussen allows Corvette to take the lead with a best lap completed in 1'44"760, almost three tenths ahead of the Ford GT of Ryan Briscoe, followed by the sister car of Dirk Müller and the second Corvette C7.R of Tommy Milner .
