The GTPs are in action at Daytona! A week before the 24 Hours of Daytona, the opening round of the 2023 season, the new generation of prototype took to the track in Florida for the first Free Practice session of the Roar, the qualifying session scheduled for Sunday. Colin Braun was the fastest in the No. 06 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-60.

L’Américain a signé son meilleur chrono en 1:35.635. Il a devancé Felipe Nasr (Porsche Penske Motorsports n°7) de 0.141 seconde et Ricky Taylor (WTRAndretti n°10) à 0.168 seconde. La Cadillac V-LMDh n°31 d’Action Express Racing (Derani, Sims, Aitken) a rencontré des problèmes avec seulement 4 tours effectués.

GTP Ranking

Alex Quinn was the fastest in the LM P2 category in the No. 07 Oreca 51 from PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports in which we find two Frenchmen with Nicolas lapierre and Paul-Loup Chatin. The Briton set his best lap in 1:39.167, ahead of his compatriot Oliver Jarvis (Era Motorsport no. 18) by 0.184 seconds. Scott McLaughlin set the third fastest time in 1:39.594 in the No. 8 Tower Motorsport.

LM P2 classification

On the LM P3 side, it was Cameron Shields who got the better of his rivals. The Australian from Performance Tech Motorsports set his best lap in 1:43.486 ahead of Joao Barbosa (Sean Creech Motorsport) and Thomas Merrill (AWA).

LM P3 classification

In GTD Pro, Alex Riberas was the fastest in the No. 23 of theAston Martin Heart of Racing Team's Vantage GT3 in 1:47.064. It was nevertheless a GTD which was the fastest in Grand Touring with Andy Lally (Magnus Racing n°44) in another car from the English brand (1:47.004).
