The Free Practice sessions follow one another and are similar to Daytona. In Florida, Acura and Meyer Shank Racing continue to dictate the pace. The defending team thus set the best time in the third running session of the Roar, the qualifying session which is being held this weekend.

After Colin Braun and Helio Castroneves, Tom Blomqvist was the fastest in 1:35.363. The Briton beat Louis Delétraz in the second Acura, the #10 from Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport by 0.130 seconds.

Les écarts se resserrent malgré tout ce samedi puisque Nick Tandy a pris la troisième place avec la Porsche 963 n°6 à seulement 0.135 seconde de Blomqvist. La deuxième GTP allemande a pris la quatrième place en 1:35.601 sous l’impulsion de Felipe Nasr.

The Cadillacs and especially the BMWs seemed to mark time during this first session of the day.

Alex Quinn was fastest in LM P2 with the #52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca, setting his best lap in 1:38.877. Mikkel Jensen took second place 0.254 seconds behind the #11 TDS Racing car, ahead of Frenchman Matthieu Vaxiviere (AF Corse #88).

In LM P3, Dakota Dickerson stood out in the No. 320 Andretti Autosport Ligier JS P36.

The GTDs always set the tone in Grand Touring. Frederik Schandorff set his pace with the McLaren 720S GT3 from Inception Racing in 1:46.842, ahead of another GTD, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°32 from Team Karthoff Motorsports. Owen Trinkler was the fastest in GTD Pro at the wheel of theAston Martin Vantage GT3 n°64 from TGM/TF Sport.
