The third free practice session of the Road America (Wisconsin) meeting in the United Sportscar Championship took place in milder conditions than the day before, when the first two sessions had been run in the rain. The Ligier JS P2 – Honda of Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian climbed to the top of the timesheet thanks to a time set by Ozz Negri Jr in 1'56″847.
Joao Barbosa places the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP in second position by more than seven tenths and precedes the No. 01 Riley DP – Ford of Scott Pruett (Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates). In the PC category, the reference was signed by the Oreca FLM09 n°54 of CORE Autosport, where we find the tandem Colin Braun and Jon Bennett.
En GTLM, après avoir dominé le classement général en EL2, la Porsche 911 RSR n°911 du Porsche North America de la paire Pilet – Tandy s’est de nouveau mise en avant et devance la voiture-soeur n°912 de Bamber – Bergmeister. Andy Lally et John Potter ont placé la Porsche 911 GT America n°44 du Magnus Racing en tête en GTD. Les qualifications auront lieu dans la soirée.
